About Me

Hi there! Nice to meet you. My name is Nadia. From a young age I was always doodling and playing with Crayola markers. Drawing was a hobby I enjoyed doing on a day to day basis. However, after moving from Iowa to Texas at the age of ten, I was told that I could no longer continue such "wasteful activities". I was told that I was wasting my time and the pictures I made were not even good; I was forced to throw out all my childhood drawings that I had kept and collected over the years. I had to grow up and turn my attention to "more important things" and figure out what to do with my life. I was not allowed to continue art in middle school, I felt so discouraged thinking I could never be an artist anyways. I felt pressured into health science so I studied biology and chemistry throughout middle school and high school. Until my final year in high school. During this year, my parents divorced and my dad left the house. I no longer needed my father's signature on my course selection sheet. For the first time in my life I had the freedom to choose what I wanted to do. I still maintained the course path for the health science field, but I had one slot open for any class of my choosing. I decided to take a beginner's art class. I just wanted to dabble a bit in the hobby again. But I created some pretty cool things in that class like the black and white cherry blossoms on this site's homepage. I enjoyed the process and I enjoyed learning how to make things look good and I thought maybe I'm not that bad at art after all. After enrolling in Alfred Stage College and completing one semester of biology, I knew I couldn't do that for the rest of my life. So I switched majors and dove headfirst into Digital Media & Animation. After four years on my animation journey, I have learned that I want to go into motion graphics. I particularly enjoy studying how things are dynamically introduced onto a screen and I feel motivated to create such animations. I know that I want to capture the attention of all sorts of audiences with dynamic engaging visuals that deliver a fun entertaining resonance. I am excited to work with the inspiration and imagination that has been bubbling up inside of me from a young age.
